Welcome back to BizLaunchBlog.com! Thanks for following me on my quest to launch and develop an online business as a gift for my wife. Share your advice, comment on a post and tell your friends... Peace, JMichael
I have to admit that I am still moving in the direction of a travel-related business. It just seems to ‘fit’ best with my wife’s personality and interests. But I have to say this entire endeavor has been much more challenging than I ever imagined.
The challenges have really been different than what I first imagined. That is to say, I thought the greatest challenge would be finding an online business I could launch and develop and ‘hand over’ to my lovely wife. The problem has not been finding a business as much as it has been finding too many businesses! I never realized how many opportunities were really available for building an online business.
So I am continuing to narrow it down… and just when I think I’ve got it somewhat figured out, wham-o!, another interesting opportunity or personal email comes my way. Then I go through my WHAT list all over again.
Now this process isn’t too terribly awful… not at all, really. I am enjoying it and learning a lot. I just guess that by day 18 I thought I would have already made my business decision and begun building it! But here I am… still kicking some tires. I know this is an important decision, deciding what business I will actually launch… but the timer is a-tickin’… I want to begin promoting and (hopefully) profiting so I can give this to my wife and allow her to resign from her current job.
I am presently comparing two Travel companies: Travelencia and Traverus. Here is what I have learned thus far. I am really focusing on these two and would love any thoughts you might have, especially if you are or have been involved with either of these companies. Tomorrow I will share what I have found regarding Travelencia. I will follow that up with what I have discovered about TraVerus.
Please share your thoughts about these two companies. Thanks in advance!

While I’ve not been a part of either one of those companies, I would highly suggest not choosing a business based on what YOU or your wife likes but rather based on what the market will bear, what people are looking for and the changing economic climate (people might start traveling less in the coming months/years).
I know it’s tempting to get into something you like, but the ONLY time I recommend that is when people are writing content or blog sites where they are recommending products or selling adspace like Google AdSense.
I have recently put up a video series and ecourse on How To Create An Online Business that shows people what I’ve learned over the years on how to start and run successful online sites/businesses. Check this out, best of all it’s FREE.
Also, I have another site that offers 3 free videos that show you how to start a recession proof business that you or your readers might be interested in.
Hope this helps and good luck with your quest!

Jason,
Thanks for your insights and I will check out those links. But I gotta say, I am not going to launch any business that my wife is not going to enjoy regardless of what market it possesses. Life is just too short and I believe I can find something that is both enjoyable and has a good market.
I think traveling might slow down to some degree but I also believe people will continue to look for opportunities (read discounts and deals) to continue to travel. Vacations may be less elaborate but I think people are still going to try to take them. I have invested some time in researching travel trends, including in a down market, and feel pretty comfortable with what I have learned.
Thanks again and I will get to those links as soon as I can.
Peace,
JMichael
